ABSOLUTELY STUNNING
HENRI II SINGLE DOOR ARMOIRE
A fabulous mirrored armoire of carved walnut This came from a chateau in Bordeaux, France. The single door holds a beveled mirror which is in very good condition. On either side of the door is a fluted column with a Corinthian-style capital supported by leaf detail. The lower portion of the columns feature scrolling foliate detail. The panel above the door is highly carved with winged gryphons and scrolling acanthus leaves on either side of an urn with flowers. Dentil moulding surrounds the upper edge of the armoire. Beneath the door is a hidden drawer. The armoire rests on stylized bun feet. Raised panels adorn the sides. The armoire also has 3 adjustable wood shelves (not shown).
Dimensions: 46” wide (at base) x 91” tall x 22” deep
NOTE: There is some very slight damage at the very top of the right side next to the ceiling. Probably from shipping This can be easily sanded out. Otherwise this piece is in fabulous pristine condition. There are no scratches or damage to any of the carving or walls.
What a fantastic example of Henri II style furniture.
This piece works well in a bedroom, guest room, office, family room, or large hall.
