Absolutely Stunning Late 19th - Early 20th Century
Hand Decorated Paneled Room
from a Private Estate in Milan, Italy!
An opportunity like this one rarely happens! Imagine having an entire hand decorated paneled room from a private estate in Italy! This truly beautiful and amazing room can be yours for immediate installation into your own palace. The entire room consists of doors, surrounds, mirrored walls, and decorative shelves. It is from the Kashanian Estate in Milan, Italy. It is most likely late 1800s - early 1900s.
Overall room measurements: 132 high x 216 wide x 156 wide (11 high x 18 wide x 13 wide)
Measurements are approximate.

The hand decorated paneled room is a rich ivory color with gilding and accents in beautiful hues of green, salmon pink, bronze and yellow. The entire room is hand decorated with both intricate hand painting and decoration and gilding.
The mirrored wall is fully mirrored on the upper two-thirds (approximately) of the wall. The focal point is the central larger mirror divided horizontally with a shelf 56 above the floor. Either side is flanked by paned mirrors in two sections - one with 3 equal sized mirrors (20 high x 22 wide), the outer section with 6 equal sized mirrors crowned with another rectangular mirror. If desired, any of the mirrors could be replaced with glass for windows. Above the central section is a hand painted panel. Immediately beneath the mirrors are hand decorated panels. Carved and raised floral medallions with floral garland grace each individual panel. The flowers are hand painted in salmon pink, bronze, yellow, and green. Each panel is gilded. The entire wall measures approximately 132 high x 216 wide (11 high x 18 wide).
The facing wall contains a central arched mirror and two doorways, as well as two decorated floor-to-ceiling panels. The central mirror is surrounded by decorative gilded molding and crowned with an arched pediment. The mirror measures 79 high and the arched trim above is 7 wide. A shelf beneath the mirror is supported by two scrolling legs. The floral motif with salmon pink, bronze, and green flowers is painted on the surface of the shelf, which measures 38 long x 12 deep and is 34 high. The single door to the right of the mirror has two hand painted floral medallions, one on the main portion of the door and one in the lower panel which is also carved and hand decorated. This door measures 72 tall x 37 wide. To the left of the mirror is a double door frame. (Note: these doors are not available. The opening is 78 high x 53 wide.) On each end of the wall are floor-to-ceiling panels with beautifully hand painted central floral medallions. The inner diameter of the medallion is 24, the outer diameter is 29. Above the mirror and doors are hand decorated panels. Overall measurements of the wall are approximately 132 high x 216 wide (11 high x 18 wide).

The third wall has mirrored French doors centered between painted panels. Each door has six mirrors and a decorative panel at the bottom with the painted salmon pink, bronze, and green floral motif. The broken pediment rests above the door and supports another panel with the painted floral motif and garland. On each side of the doors are tall painted panels with the motif radiating from the corners. Measurements for the wall are approximately 132 high x 156 wide (11 high x 13 wide).
The main entry way to the room is on the fourth wall. The door is again painted with the floral medallion in the main upper section and the smaller medallion and floral garland in the lower panel. The door measures 73 high x 36 wide. The door surround is very detailed with gilt corbels and overdoor, and the floral garland painted on the lintel. Either side of the door are panels with the floral motif radiating from the corner. On the far right of this wall is a 15 x 15 protruding corner (see picture). The entire wall measures approximately 132 high x 156 wide (11 high x 13 wide).
We have most, if not all of the crown molding. The auction house where we purchased it had added unfinished baseboard and a few small pieces of wood trim. These can easily be painted to match or compliment this outstanding Italian room.
This room is truly amazing! The beauty of the hand painting and decoration is difficult to describe because of the subtleties in shades and colors. Hopefully you are able to glean some of the intricacies of the artistry in the pictures.

The possibilities for use of this room are endless.
For the home, a beautiful bedroom, a lovely sitting room or salon, even an amazing master bath.
In an office setting, a board room, meeting room, or executive dining room.
For a restaurant or boutique hotel, an exquisite private dining room, a ladies lounge, or an intimate cocktail lounge.
Mirrored sections can be turned into windows. The double door frame (without doors) could also be turned into windows or an open entrance into another room.
